What to Bring

Below is a detailed list of what to pack. It is important to bring everything that is on the list according to the exact specifications that you are given.

Compulsory items

• Running shoes
• Sports clothes (including sweat pants)
• Shirts cannot show stomach or shoulders, pants must be below the knees
• High socks + underclothes
• Undershirt must be either white or olive green. In the winter it is recommended that you bring long-sleeve undershirts and long underwear as well. Undershirts cannot have any kind of collar or hood.
• Towel
• Toiletries
• Small lock for your back-pack
• Notepad + pen (pocket size)
• Insoles for army boots (very important)
• Watch with stopwatch feature (watch-cover recommended)
• Shaving kit – boys
• Black undershirts for field and combat week
• Bring enough for a whole week, including dark long-sleeve shirts for night
• Black shoe polish + brush
• Sewing kit
• Bedding: sheets, pillow, and blanket (mattress and sleeping bag will be provided)

*For those who wear glasses bring a second pair or contact lenses.

• Flashlight (for field week)
• Laundry detergent
• Matches or lighter
• Telecard
• A safety strap for your glasses
• Talc (baby powder, gold-bond)
• Wide rubber bands
• Swiss army knife, lederman
• Full black winter gloves
• Black winter scarf
• Sandals for shower
• Bedding

Important!

• Don’t bring valuable, jewelry or a lot of money
• Bring your passport
• Bring a large back-pack or duffel bag, not a suitcase
• Try to bring as little as possible – you will have no need for “civilian” clothes in the army.
• All male participants must arrive on the opening day with a very short haircut, otherwise they cannot start the program.
